Even more Addictions 3.March.2004
While I’ve been on the subject of addictions, I realized that there was one big one that I over looked. A trip to the bank today reminded me. This is another thing that I never thought I would be addicted to. I don’t like Pepsi, yet I’m addicted to it, and I never really thought I would like shopping, but I’m addicted to it. But its only a small variant of shopping that I’m addicted to. Oh, the wonderful world of Free After Rebate shopping. Some how my good friend Jason and I went one week to OfficeMax and noticed they had a good selection of stuff for free (after rebate of-course). So as this addiction has progressed, since I started 4 months ago I have bought 450 blank CDs. I might have used almost 50 now, but for some reason that doesn’t matter to me. I have numerous phones, document wedges, tape, labels, paper, remote controls, and so much other stuff I don’t need. But it is free. I just have to wait awhile to get my money back. This past weekend I just got the rebate check from some stuff I bought in October. When we go rebating we buy almost everything that is free after rebate that week, it doesn’t matter if we need it. So far I have spent over $300 in buying stuff free after rebate. I should pick up smoking, that might be cheaper! But, the cigarette companies don’t give you your lugs back if you send it your receipt and original UPC symbol.
